I never expect big business to keep their word about anything, and when they do, it comes as a shock and with the expectation they'll do something to neutralize any good that arose from it. BestBuy wins hands-down in the department of "we'll disappoint you, we'll disappoint you again, and we'll continue to disappoint you."
For the past couple of weeks, I've been attempting to obtain a laptop the store advertised for $449.99 "in store only." Well, we all know that if we're going to purchase something "in store" it has to be available in store. Such is not the case when it comes to this particular Toshiba Satellite T2330 A205 S5804 that has been M.I.A. since the beginning.
So, when I called around today, after being told by a certain Snellville, GA, store that they'd be getting some in on the truck yesterday, we got the same run-around. One rep who answered the phone had the audacity to tell us that because the item is on sale, he doesn't think they'll be getting anymore. Did you understand what I just said? Well, let me explain: The sale he's referring to is running this week, too, but the store ran out of the laptops the first day of the sale weeks ago AND they're not getting in anymore. So, why is the sale still on and advertised for another week?
The only conclusion I can draw from this is that they want to get us into the store, and then try to sell us something of inferior quality for the same price--which is just what they did during one of our wasted drives to collect a laptop we were told they had over the phone, only to be told they didn't have it in stock upon our arrival, but had a Compaq for the same price that came with much less than the advertised Toshiba.
Now, I know BestBuy's reputation is not the greatest in the first place, but this just goes to show that this store and its people are highly lacking morally. But, again, to have expected anything more would have been to say I expected better from BestBuy, better from big business.
After this last experience, my husband and I have made a promise that we will never spend money there again--and never is a hell of a long time. We also would never recommend them to anyone else seeking quality products.
I'd like to hear the experiences of others regarding BestBuy's product availability, quality of products and customer service.



It happens every time I step in BestBuy...Thats why I spend my cash at Circuit City and other stores...But some times its hard, because BestBuy always have the best product...And they always have their cds on sale...LOL

@G: They're some of the most crooked con-artists one can encounter--especially some of the management.
